Audit commission hails CDC compliance on gender and development

THE Commission on Audit (COA) commended Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for its compliance with Gender and Development (GAD) programs and initiatives.

At the recent COA Exit Conference, CDC leadership was commended for its efforts to achieve its GAD goals and for allocating substantial funds to various GAD activities for the year 2021.

“We commend the management (CDC) for allocating substantial funds to its GAD-related activities in pursuit of its mandate to achieve the goals of the GAD,” the COA said.

The COA further quoted that the “CDC allocated 308.60 million pesos for its GAD-related activities, which represents 6.20% of the total revised budget for the year, which made the company (CDC) meets the threshold prescribed by Republic Act (RA) 9710 or Magna Carta for Women (MCW).

Under Chapter 6 of RA 9710, GAD budgets of government agencies and local government units (LGUs) must be at least 5% of their total budget appropriations.

All previous years’ audit observations on CDC’s GAD compliance were fully addressed in accordance with guidelines prescribed by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and COA, which was considered a remarkable achievement for the company. public.

CDC management led by its President and CEO Manuel Gaerlan thanked the COA for the citation.

“Management thanked the COA for its praise of CDC’s GAD performance which was the result of a focused effort across the organization, with the GAD focal point system as the office of primary responsibility (OPR), to integrating and assigning projects and activities to GAD and ensuring its gender sensitivity,” the CDC said in a statement.
