Carson City Supervisors Seek Volunteer Seats on RTC Commission and Audit Committee | Carson City Nevada News

The Carson City Supervisory Board is looking for local citizens to volunteer to serve on its regional transportation commission and audit committee as a citizen general.

Regional Transport Commission
The Supervisory Board invites applications from people interested in sitting on the Regional Transport Commission. The RTC is the policy-making body on transportation issues within Carson City, whose purpose is to establish priorities and recommend appropriate funding for transportation improvement projects.

Members of the Regional Transportation Commission also sit on the Carson Region Metropolitan Planning Organization Council (CAMPO) to discuss and take action regarding federal funds spent on transportation and transit projects in the Carson region. Carson metropolitan planning.

There are two (2) positions each open for a term that expires in December 2023.

The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 4.30 p.m. after the adjournment of the CAMPO meeting. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum engagement of up to ten hours per month. The position will serve without pay.

Applications will be accepted until December 2, 2021. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively scheduled at the regular Supervisory Board meeting on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

City of Carson Audit Committee
The Carson City Supervisory Board seeks applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the Audit Committee as an ordinary citizen. There are two (2) open positions, each to fill a term that ends in December 2023.

Applicants must be:

– A Carson City resident

– Have experience in financial services, public accounting and / or government auditing, and current knowledge of public laws and regulations governing an audit committee.

– Will not accept any consultation, advisory or other compensatory costs from the city and cannot be a person affiliated with the city or a branch of the city.

The role of the Carson City Audit Committee is to maintain oversight of the audit function, internal and external, resulting in increased integrity and efficiency of the city’s audit processes and system of controls. internal and financial reports of the city.

Committee meetings take place at least once a quarter. Applicants should be prepared for a minimum engagement of up to three hours per month. The positions will serve without pay.

All requests submitted will be considered public information. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively scheduled for the regular Supervisory Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, which will be announced.
