Lori Mason announces candidacy for Montgomery County District 5 commissioner

Lori Mason has announced her candidacy as an independent candidate for the Montgomery County Commission in District 5.

Lori is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and District 5. She graduated from Northeast High School, has Associate of Science degrees in Criminal Justice and Microsoft Systems Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. . After teaching at Draughons Junior College, she worked in the business operations side of the healthcare industry. She is currently co-owner of a small veteran-owned business. She is also a Certified Life Coach and Life Mastery Consultant.

Mason’s public service began over 15 years ago as a Notary Public for the State of Tennessee. She has served the Clarksville community through numerous non-profit organizations, including Montgomery County Relay for Life, the Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, as Secretary of Clarksville-Montgomery Crime Stoppers, as Secretary and Clarksville Citizens Police Academy Project Leader, Lifetime Member of the Recognized Professional Women of Excellence Organization and Student Mentor for TN Achieves.

Mason said his desire as county commissioner was to be an available representative for everyone in District 5, regardless of political affiliation, from business owners in downtown Clarksville to residents of Lincoln. Homes, Summit Heights and everywhere in between. She is a firm believer in government transparency and accountability and believes local government needs to be more fiscally responsible by stopping the overspending and tax hikes that have affected all citizens of Montgomery County.

District 5 covers downtown Clarksville from Riverside Drive to Golf Club Lane and Kraft Street to Hickory Grove Boulevard and Paradise Hill Road.
