Vote Repke for the Public Service Commission

ByChad J. Johnson

May 6, 2022

John Repke has our vote for District 5 Civil Service Commissioner. We have known Jean for many years. He has extensive experience in financial management and also brings the integrity and honesty that we value in a public servant. John Repke has 40 years of successful experience in private sector finance, strategic planning and organizational management. John has worked in the oil and gas sector as well as the environmental services industry. John’s education and experience make him the best candidate to represent the people of Montana who are served by PSC-regulated businesses.

The PSC regulates private utilities and other companies that have a monopoly position in the markets they serve. Ensuring that rates are fair requires disciplined analytical work based on an understanding of corporate finance, accounting, economics and statistics. Experience in these areas should be a prerequisite for any candidate wishing to sit on this commission. Unfortunately, our current PSC commissioners do not have the experience to regulate these utilities on behalf of the Montana public. And there are serious questions about the current commissioners’ practices, ethics and disclosures, as laid out in the state’s latest audit. Our Civil Service Commissioners are among the highest paid elected officials in Helena with a salary of approximately $110,000. We urge you to research and consider carefully which candidate is best qualified for this PSC seat.

We believe the PSC will benefit from John’s experience and honesty. We encourage you to vote for John Repke, PSC District 5.
